This Blog is to document the progress I am making on my EarthStar JT2 Major Upgrade and Engine replacement.
General Photos (pg1)
The next series of photo pages are just general all-around photos of the plane I took yesterday at the request of Mark Beierle, the designer of this beautiful bird. The tail group shown in the photos is not the original tail group that he designed for this plane. He originally designed a V-Tail system for this plane. She was originally designed as an Amphibian Float plane. This specific plane was a "One-Off" special custom design Mark did for one customer only. The fuselage measurements differ somewhat from a standard JT2. That is a situation I have been having to deal with when trying to use standard JT2 manuals, and W/B calculations. You can still see the attach points for the floats where the landing gear exits the fuselage... left overs from a colorful past. Neither one of us is knowledgeable about who, or when this plane was converted from a V-Tail configuration, to it's present design. This new tail group was very well designed and constructed. If anyone has any history that you can share on the tail conversion... please contact me direct. Thanks. Enjoy the photos.
